TECHNOLOGY MEASUREMENT

A measure of the extent to which a school has the equipment that would make it possible for technology to have a substantial impact on students' education. Whether that impact occurs, of course, depends upon how a given school makes use of its computer and video equipment.

Possible values range from HIGH to LOW.

Indicates the presence of electronic technology in schools that accounts for their different sizes, the different student populations that they serve, and the different types of equipment in their technology mix.

The indicators were derived by factor analysis of data regarding modems, CD-ROM, interactive videodisc, satellite dish, networks, cable television, computers, VCRs, monitors, presence of an ILS system, presence of a World Wide Web browser or homepage, and the number of on-line services subscribed to. Also included in the analysis were enrollment, number of schools in the district, grades taught, Title I student percentages, multicultural student percentages, per-pupil expenditures (DDP) and Lifestyle indicator.

Trinity Christian School, an educational ministry of Trinity Presbyterian Church (PCA), has been established to assist parents in the teaching of our covenant children the Christian world and life view from a reformed Christian perspective in a superior learning environment. Children are taught that all things in the universe derive their existence from the creative hand of Almighty God, as revealed in the Scriptures, which are the only infalli-ble rule for life and faith. The school seeks to prepare students academically, physically, and spiritually so that they are equipped with a thorough knowledge of God and His created world to be able to fulfill the dominion mandate. This mission is realized by God's grace as the entire school community works together demonstrating that God's truth permeates all areas of life.
