Great School
Hayes in 2007 got a new principal, and since then the school has been greatly improving. The school is very diverse with an active parent community. Yes, the school is working on its test scores, but we have a large % of transient students which can cause low test scores when students transfer to Hayes during the last month of school. My child has done excellent at hayes and the administration is really good and accessible.
As far as demographics, Hayes has families that are very affluent and some that are not. But we all get along and work as a team for ALL students to succeed.
I feel that the school PTA needs new leadership though. I feel like they really need to concentrate on after school programs and tutoring to help out more of the economically disadvantaged children.
